Her editor suggested the childhood scenes in Go Set A Watchman were powerful enough to make a book on their own, and thus was born a classic, with sales of Mockingbird in the millions. In an era crowded with shameless self promoters, author Harper Lee was infamous for her quiet, reclusive ways.
